  • Area of Specialization: Animal Nutrition, Production and Management
  • Department of Animal Science

  • Dr Okpara Oghenesuvwe, a Registered Animal Scientist (RAS) is an intellectual of great repute in Animal Science, livestock nutrition, production and management. He is held in high esteem by his colleagues as a practical , versatile, active teacher and researcher, a good organizer and a manager of men and materials. As a passionate researcher and Registered Animal Scientist (RAS), my work focuses on improving animal nutrition and production systems through innovative and sustainable feeding strategies. My research interests include the use of multipurpose browse plants, shrubs, and trees to enhance livestock performance, with a particular focus on optimizing nutrient availability and reducing anti-nutritional factors through processing technologies. Over the years, I have contributed to the scientific community through numerous publications and collaborative projects aimed at addressing real-world challenges in livestock farming. My goal is to advance knowledge that supports food security, animal welfare, and environmentally sound agricultural practices. I am committed to mentoring students and engaging in impactful research that bridges academic theory and practical application.
