  • Dr. Felix Onoriode Ashakah is a faculty member in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria. He holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Benin, Edo State, Nigeria. He obtained a master’s degree in economics, specialising in business and economic forecasting, from Kingston University London. He also obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics, second class upper division with honours, from Delta State University, Nigeria. Dr. Felix Onoriode Ashakah enjoys teaching; his teaching competence broadly spreads in macroeconomics and specifically in development economics, financial economics, international economics, and applied econometrics. He joined Delta State University in January 2023 after spending about ten (10) years at Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State. Dr. Felix Onoriode Ashakah is passionate about research. He has published several articles in local, national, and international journals of repute, with a significant number of the articles published in Scopus-indexed international journals. His research covers development economics, financial economics, international economics, and macroeconomics. Before joining Western Delta University in 2013, he worked with Industrial and General Insurance Company Plc, Lagos, from 2003 to 2006, as a human resources officer. He also worked with Intercontinental Bank Plc as an operations staff member from 2006 to 2011 before proceeding to the United Kingdom for a master's degree programme in economics in September 2011. Dr. Felix Onoriode Ashakah is a Fellow of the Centre of Economic Policy and Development Research (CEPDeR), a research institute of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, and a member of the Nigerian Economic Society and the Royal Economic Society, UK. Dr. Felix Onoriode Ashakah is married to Susan Felix-Ashakah, and they are blessed with three daughters: Michelle, Sharon, and Christabel.
