The Department of Computer Science Delta State University Abraka Currently runs a full-time programme in Computer Science at B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. levels. Diploma in Science and Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science (PGDCS)
The history of computer science at Delta State University, Abraka started in the mid-1990s. By 1995/96 academic session, the Senate of Delta State University, Abraka established a B.Sc. Degree in Computer Science.
Therefore, the first set of the full-time B.Sc. Degree in Computer science was admitted in the 1985/86 academic session. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science as it was known, was responsible for teaching programs in Computer Science. There was high patronage of the Department of Computer Science by potential candidates. In fact, it is an established fact that Delta State University, Abraka in general is one of the highly sought Universities in Nigeria by prospective candidates.
