CAPITAL EXPRESS ASSURANCE PRESENTS CHEQUE TO DECEASED FAMILIES

The Management of Capital Express Assurance Limited recently presented cheques valued at seven hundred thousand (N700,000.00) naira, under the Students Welfare Insurance Scheme as compensation to the families of late Efenogo S. Bigman, a 200 level Accountancy student who lost his life in a motor accident and Ogoro V. Enifome a 400 level Business Education student who died after a brief illness.

The cheque which was earlier handed over to the Dean of Students, Professor Temi Akporhonor, by the Warri Branch Manager of Capital Express Assurance Limited, Mr. Kingsley Okiroro, was later handed over to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eric A. Arubayi.

Speaking at the presentation, Professor Akporhonor noted that the money is not a replacement for the life lost rather it is to cushion the effect on the bereaved families.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed his sympathy to the families, while thanking the Management of Capital Express Ansurance Limited for honouring the agreement reached. He used the medium to encourage students to ensure that they pay their fees and register their courses as and when due, noting that these families are benefiting because late  Efenogo Bigman and Ogoro Enifome paid their fees and registered their courses promptly.

The cheque of three hundred and fifty thousand naira each was later presented to their next of kin by the Vice-Chancellor.

Present at the occasion were the Deputy Registrar, Student Affairs, Mrs. E.J. Omoyine and other staff of the University.
